Gigi Buffon x SportsIcon — Platform and date.
We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Gianluigi Buffon on his first NFT project. It’s important to both parties that there is a strong charity element to this collection. As detailed in our last Medium post, Gigi works with closely with Insuperabili, a charity empowering young people in Italy. The revenue from one of the auction pieces will be donated to this charity.
Gigi Buffon is one of, if not the greatest goalkeeper of all time. A career spanning 20+ years, over 1000 professional games, including 176 caps for Italy, a World Cup win and 10 Serie A titles with Juventus — to name but a few of Gigi’s accolades. A true Icon.
The collection will comprise of 6 artistic representations available on Crypto.com/nft of Gigi’s career with voice over from the great man himself, paying homage to an incredible journey and iconic career. There will be 3 auction pieces, an edition of 20, and edition of 75 and one ‘open edition’ which will be time limited to the duration of the sale. After this no more will be produced. Auction Piece — 1 of 1 — “Master by Design”. Proceeds donated to Insuperabili charity. This amazing artwork is a one of one; a ‘live’ 3D painting.
Icon. Edition of 75. 2 owners of Icon will received a glove signed by Gigi Buffon.
Safe Hands. Open Edition. One owner, chosen at random will received a glove signed by Gigi Buffon.
Those who own all three of Icon, 974 and Safe Hands will receive a signed glove and shirt.
We are also pleased to have partnered with Charged Particles and The Guild to produce an additional item in the sale (the 7th item) — an innovative, nested NFT. This is 4 Gigi Buffon NFTs, nested within 1 NFT. Purchasers of the nested NFT will be able to ‘unpack’ The NFT on the Charged Particles website. We are aiming to push the boundaries more and more. The sale date, time and location of this special NFT will be announced over the weekend of 31st July — so keep your eyes on our Twitter, Telegram and Discord!
We are also incredibly pleased to partner with Spatial who will host a VR gallery designed by M2 VR Studio to preview the works.
The collection will be available to preview on 30th July and will remain open for two weeks post drop.
The sale will start on 30th July at 7pm UK time (11am PST, 14:00 EST) and run for 48 hours. Credit card and crypto payments will be accepted.
