SportsIcon Lion Club — May and Early June Updates
Hello SportsIcon Lion Club community! As we journey deeper into 2023, it’s time to take a look back at our accomplishments and major events from May and the start of June.
The FPL football season wrapped up with thrilling action that kept us on the edge of our seats until the very last game. Congratulations to the 12 winners who shared prize outgoings of $1750, with Guigef taking the top spot for the 2022/23 season. Your strategic moves and game-changing decisions have truly made this season one for the books.
In May, we launched our first Future Icons programme with MMA fighter John Mitchell. The response was phenomenal: the John Mitchell Fan Token is now nearly 50% sold out! Mark your calendars for July 8th when Mitchell steps into the ring in Berlin for the first of his 5 fights in the Professional Fighters League. If Mitchell wins all his fights and takes home the PFL Europe belt, John Mitchell Fan Token holders will have more than doubled their investments.
In the run-up to the John Mitchell Fan Token release, we hosted our first Zealy Quest Sprint Challenge. Over 80 people signed up to Zealy Quest and took part in quests such as retweeting posts, liking Instagram photos, and creating some epic boss memes. A special shout-out to Jay86, Ruxton, and KG who shared the top spot and $400 in prize money.
Participants who placed 4th to 10th in the Zealy Quests were all rewarded with a Lion Club NFT. We also made one of our Lions roar with joy by giving them tickets to the Scotland vs France match on August 5th at Murrayfield in Glasgow. We’re excitedly awaiting the photos from that event!
The NBA Playoffs have been keeping us entertained over the past 8 weeks, and with only the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat left standing, the anticipation is at an all-time high. There is still $490 up for grabs in the NBA Bracket Challenge, with several Lions still in the running to win the prize pot.
We also held our second Lion Club Advisory Board meeting in May. The board has been fostering excellent discussions and working on exciting action points that we can’t wait to share with you in the coming months.
Finally, a huge thank you to all who have contributed to the growth of our community. We sold over 20 Lions in May and June so far, and the current floor on Opensea is 0.01. Let’s keep spreading the word about the SportsIcon Lion Club and build the greatest online web3.0 community out there. Together, we’re unstoppable!
