We are excited to announce that SportsIcon has raised $5.5 million in our seed round from some of the best investors in tech and crypto.

We are delighted to be partnering on this journey with Dapper Labs, AU21 Capital, Vinny Lingham, Elefund, Craig Clemens, 4th Revolution Capital, Vendetta Capital, Sunny Madra, FishDAO and many more!

These partners join our existing investors: rap legend and tech investor Nas; former NBA champion Andrew Bogut; Roham Gharegozlou, the CEO of Dapper Labs, creators of NBA Top Shot; Wndrco; On Deck Runway Fund; Nihal Mehta of Eniac Ventures; Mike Edwards of Argo Blockchain; Anand Agarawala, Founder of Spatial; Andrew Masanto of Reserve Protocol, Hedera Hashgraph and Pet Lab Co.; and Chad Hurley, the founder and former CEO of YouTube.

We are on a mission to connect fans with the greatest sports stars and IP of all time by leveraging the latest advances in Web3. We’re excited to continue our rollout of cinematic-quality NFTs, the sports metaverse and our Lion Club DAO.

Even though this is an important milestone, we know that this is just the beginning. We’ll continue to invest in real-world and digital utility for our NFT and token holders by offering exclusive programs you can’t find elsewhere. In the past few months, NFT holders have enjoyed box seats at Wembley Stadium and Madison Square Garden, and attended Q&As with Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo and Baron Davis. But this is only the start of our ambitions for NFT utility: coming soon will be Meet Your Hero events in the sports metaverse, multi-year tickets to watch your hero play in person, the chance to receive personalised training sessions from your icons and much more.
